I wanted to help Benjamin, one of my sons (low air time P-2), get more time so opted not to join the Pine contingent & went to Chief late - just in time to see the last of the Piners launch. A pretty light day, nothing great & nothing terrible - guess that's why people were scattered all over the valley. We flew for an hour and a half & had a good time - didn't feel the conditions warrented a first XC attempt by my son.

John, nice job clawing your way back to the spine. If you were trying to talk to us, we had changed frequencies so I could offer Benjamin guidence without bothering the rest of the pilots.

And besides, we've always told the kids not to talk to strange men.
