The lapse rate is there, but the wind could be a problem with high velocities at the upper altitudes. Already some wind locally, caps off Carp, but not too hard around Pt Conception. Debbie appears to be trending toward a block. The wind is supposed to pick up as the upper air is pulled down by the vertical mixing. The relative humidity is also high, so we might have some clouds to deal with, but the pressure is building and it’s drying out as the air mass trends toward subsidence.

Tomorrow should have less wind at altitude, but more subsidence and morning drainage. The forecast is calling for the valley temps to climb and the costal marine layer to start building back in Wed, but it the marine layer won’t be established until Thursday.

I’d recommend Wednesday for most of the crew.
