Dan Keyser, Marty Devietti, and myself headed up to Skyport around noon. Light cycles. Marty wind dummied and made it look to easy. This guy is a fantastic pilot, I hope we all get to fly Ojai together. Dan Keyser and I were suiting up to do a tandem, watching Marty make piece meal of the house thermal. He was flying a M Quarx. It was real nice watching him core it on such a tricky day. However the ceiling was just above launch, so he headed to the round house. Dan and I had a smooth launch, found ourselves scratching at and below the antenna farm. Marty had an hour, and we did forty minutes. Returning to launch, we met a couple of Lake Tahoe boys, Chazz Spaethe, Ryan, and a guy named Danny Wilson. Marty pulled out the Tucan, and flew Danny, Chazz flew the Quarx, and Dan and I did another tandem. More scratching. What was so great was that these guys weren't even planning on flying, but we all managed to have a great time. It's not always about how long, or how far you go, sometimes it's just appreciating meeting new friends and enjoying the gift of free flight.........
