Apologies to those we didn't call this morning. It was all very last minute.

Met up with Tom P, Brendan, and Mike (driving) at Nordhoff and got to Chief around 11. Cycles were coming in nicely but cloud base was at or just above launch. Looked like a sledride as there was shade pretty much all the way out. By 11:15 there was sunshine poking through and Brendan did the wind dummy thang. Went out, went up. WELL over launch at twin peaks. The rest of us followed with similar results. Buttery smooth lift EVERYWHERE. Unfortunately cloud base came down to below launch again and some hairy nervous moments ensued. Big ears were pulled several times and rarely resulted in anything less than 200 fpm UP. Tom and Brendan headed East for Thomas Aquinas but I was getting weird vibes from the clouds (Go home or we will eat you and spit you out someplace strange) and headed for McAndrew. Stiff wind in the valley. Mike picked us up and there was a collective decision to go for round two. By now cloudbase had gone up sseveral thousand feet and cleared quite a bit. Lots of sunshine. Back to launch with cycles still coming up. Tom off first and climbed out. I punched off second and had some bumpy turb and a headwind. Didn't hit much until old faithful twin peaks which took me to 6700 in unbelievable smooth lift. From there I went on glide for Thomas Aquinas with a 10-15mph tailwind. Brendan and Tom arrived not long after I landed but managed to scratch up and put it into Fillmore. SWEEET day. None of us could believe how well it had gone off.
