Who needs an LZ at 12k? If you do find yourself low & have to land out, a long hot hike/bush wack possibly ending in a chopper ride WILL give a pilot respect for the remoteness of Pine. The majority of local pilots with a dozen or more flights here have lived it first hand. Not to be feared, just respected.
On a good day, experienced pilots like yourself that come prepared with a common sense flight plan, water, survival gear & enough physical fitness to get themselfs to a road can have rewarding flights at Pine like some of us had yesterday.
