I launched into a very nasty sink cycle, so the first 15 minutes or so I was deep in the canyon in front of launch, watching Benson go down in front of me, and thinking I was going to join him in the bushes.

By the time I had climbed out and moved down toward the 33, I couldn't see anyone doing well (HG or PG) at White Ledge. I also heard Diablo talking about his flight on the radio, and decided that perhaps conditions weren't conducive to my going XC, so I went out to land at the HS, and pick up my truck and do some retrieves.

Next time I'll be a little more aggressive. Quite a few people I know (including myself) have pounded in hard recently, which may account for some of my lack of enthusiasm for crossing no-man's land in rowdy air.

Kagel was convergent yesterday (Monday), but no XC potential as everyone (HG and me the lone PG) got drilled every time we tried to leave the main mountain and cross over to Big T to the east or try to go west. I think the convergence line was going on a N-S line, since thermal drift was from the SE, and in the afternoon the NW wind came through.

Today (Tuesday) is already blowing in at Kagel, but I think it's going to be an inverted day (Mt Wilson cam shows the valley looking pretty brown).

How often do people fly Ojai during the week? I'm currently unemployed, so I can fly any time. Any usual weekday fliers to contact?
