It was a short lesson (at Elings) due to cross-wind most of the day, then the marine layer came in and when it backed off it was OTB. I flew the Condor--a big floppy glider designed for low flights sporting a very simple frame and material much like paragliders. I got airtime every time I launched. Didn't ever whack, but did do a roll-in--which was planned but done sooner in the flight due to my first turns killing my glide.
It's very different than paragliding. Except for looking around me and shouting "CLEAR!"... *None of my previous paragliding experience factored in.* I might as well have never flown before because the experience was.. A W E S O M E ..
I forgot to breath in-flight a couple of times..
I sincerely hope that even if you are a sworn paraglider pilot you should get a taste of the hang glider action. Tammy's lessons are $150 per person if two or more sign up together.
