Well...What can I say? Looked like a duplicate of yesterday on paper and up until launch time, it was. STRONG winds in the canyons and peppy on launch. It died back a bit and Bill, Bob, Ron, Me, and Mike (in that order) bailed off the hill. Bill took a hit right off launch but recovered well. The first 3 made it out front and maintained for a bit. Bill made a run for NHS due to turb and I think Bob followed (I was busy launching). I bailed off and had a great flight out to the corner where a NE wind helped me maintain. Nice and smooth. Got a bit lower and made a run down towards the last knob before Pyramid.

VERY different air. Got me up to 4600 at which point I hit a ceiling that felt like it was made of bricks. Maximum spankage ensued with 2 big frontals within a minute. Ron was down below me a bit and Mike was coming in from the east. Neither seemed to be having turb problems. Eddie said there might be convergence coming in but I wasn't about to stick around long enough to find out. I made the run for NHS just behind Mike and Ron with 4k feet. Ron landed above Rancho, Mike hit the HS and Bill went to Mira Monte school. I'm not sure where Bob ended up. I decided to try out the LZ next to the new house and tanked into it with the elegant grace of a drunken albatross. Certainly a....unique(?) day.
