Mountains didn't look too promising for a sky cruising over the peaks. Anyhow I'd jumped in my car and after 25 min of driving I’d arrived at the SkyPort. 5 or 6 HG at launch and 2-3 PG. Cycles were weak, and one has to really work out the lift, and to be veeery patient. I punched of the Sky Port at 12:15 ... Took me 5 min to work out the house thermal and climbe out at 3500... then I vent right, scratching fairly low at the side, picking up some "Dolphin" lift. I have intercepted the spine at R&R on halfway to the tit. It took me fairly 10 minutes to work that disarranged lift, doing a lot's of scratching. All the time I have observed air "smoothness", to bail out in case of some rough stuff. Climbing above R&R... paid of being patient, and I was cruising at 4500 ft, geting in-and-out the thermal lift. At one moment some really nice thermal took me at nearly 5000 ft. Not to many options considering that all the HG pilots where scratching the hillside fairly low all over the mountain range. I'd enjoyed the view at the back country behind the mountain ridge next 30 min. Climbed then at 4700 and b-lined to the beach. Arrived at the beach with 1300 ft to spare and floated in the air good 10 min. Flying above the ocean was really interesting experience :) Perfect landing with almost 0 vertical speed. Packed my wing and called a friend to give me a ride. I still have to go to pick my car, but flying at the beach, was really worthy all this transportation trouble.

What a beautiful Saturday :)
