7 am Saturday morning

The clouds are moving at a good clip out of the SW, and the forecasted winds aloft agree, but Debbie is reporting enough SE to raise an eyebrow (9-17). The buoys are also showing a little SE. We would normally expect our South Coast to have localized SE ahead of a front (pre frontal). The large scale pressure maps would seem to agree with the forecast and suggest SW.

Unless I make another post, I’ll leave Carpinteria about 8 am for the Nut House.

I did have a tandem flight years ago in similar morning SE conditions where we launched from the Alternator and flew past Piru. I think it swung around to the SW as the day progressed. If it looks like it’s going to swing around, I’ll consider starting in SB.
