A few of us cruised over to Elings park on Saturday for a little training hill fun. Not soarable but had we stayed another hour or so it would have been. Left around 2:30 and headed up to the Alternator. Small thermal activity right off the launch and zilch around the front. Sledride down to the LZ. On Sunday we headed up to Chief. Tiny punchy thermals all the way down the spine and a couple times I ended up below the ridge. The rest managed to climb out and make it to Nordhoff peak where there was some nice thermal activity. They headed for the Nordhoff LZ and I landed at Boccali's. Just over an hour flight. Then (busy weekend ey?) we got an offer to head out to Moore Mesa which looked promising from the freeway (flags stuck straight out) but was rather mellow at the launch. Sat around for a few hours and watched the windline out on the water inch ever closer. Never arrived but one pilot eventually got in the air with a 10mph wind and had a scratchy but admirable flight. Not an epic weekend but fun anyway.
