I was suppose to board a fishing boat last night, but that was changed to sunday morning, so John and I headed to Pine at 10;00am. Conditions looked good and we both launched by 11;30. Since we didn't have a driver, we planned to land at the sand pile. That was before we found ourselves in convergence and climbed to 12,000'+. After 1 1/2 hrs., John flew east and flushed to about 6500'. I watched him scratch his way to the hwy, I was sure he would be hiking. I headed south and kept climbing with a ground speed of 20mph. 10 min. later, John tells me he's at 11,200' and following me to Ojai. I cleared Nordhoff peak with 400'agl. John cleared the ridge with less than 100' and said that a hunter on the ridge was so suprised to see him, that it looked like he had swallowed his chewing tobacco. I took a straight glide to the HS. John had to work a little for the altitude, but also made it to the HS. I love that Carbon glide! By the way, John's Exact Didn't do too bad either.
