We had a super day at Chief's on Friday. I flew about an hour and a half getting up over 6,000 and staying there for a while.
I enjoyed being released from work finally and just enjoyed the day. So I was ready for Saturday with a vengence. I didn't think the memories of my last flight there which left me hanging from a tree limb would be so prevalent. I guess you just don't forget those things. So I got a little coaching from Dan as to where the thermals seemed to be. I still seemed to fall out of the back and started to give up the high ground rather than land in you know what again. So just when you let something go, it all comes around. I found one of those big fat thermals y'all talk about and got up to 8444 and stayed there for a long time just enjoying the heck out of it. Flew past Wolf's on the way for some sight seeing and landed peacefully near the road on the way to the sandpile. Fewer gunshot sounds on the ground this time. And the apres sky sip and smooz was great too!
