Walts Point / Horse Meadows, Lone Pine Calif.

Saturday 6/16 Tom Truax added another flight to his long history of achievements by taking off at Walts Point and flying his Gin Bonanza just short of Gabbs Nevada, 145 miles, 8 hours, at altitudes to 18,000. This is the "site record" as well as the new "California Record". While he was the only paraglider, the nearest hangglider, John Scott / Southside landed at the 72 mile mark, just north of Bishop. I can not give this story the justice it deserves and will leave that to Tom. I just thought that you all might want to hear a brief summation. Truly a remarkable accomplishment. congratulations Tom!

ps. I landed at the 20 mile mark in my ATOS-so much for the equipment making the difference
