I missed Noel's post this morning, but as luck would have it we (Claude, Tom P., John, and I, Dan) had the marshall folks in tow as we proceeded up pine today. All indications looked like a good day at Pine and we were not disappointed.

As Eddie pulled my truck off to the side of the road, Noel, Matt, Michelle and one other pilot whose name I forgot from Marshall drove along side us and said glad we found you.

Matt was the first to launch in cycles that would go from 0 to 20+mph. The first comment from the folks from Marshall was are those thermal cycles? Yes they were. I had forgotten what a good lapse rate will do at Pine.

Matt flew like his wing was a part of his physical body. He ended up in Lockwood I believe! Noel treated us to the common launch of sitting down after being tossed in the air only to be raised straight up, no forward penetration, just straight up for 150+' before his wing started making head way. I believe Noel made it about half way to Lockwood.

Finally after about 2 hours of waiting the rest of us launched. Claude made it to Cal-Trans. A feat all by itself as the head wind was 8-10+ from the south. Tom and John flew for about and hour and 45 min and an hour respectively. Me I flew for about 1 hour and 15 min and managed to get to 10,007 feet before heading out to half moon.

There is room in my truck as it looks like another Pine day tomorrow.

Dan
