Skyport was awesome, lots of lift above launch, at the house thermal, and especially at the Thermal Factory. I suppose I should have taken cloudbase and gotten on course, (I did feel a little left behind with the others doing so), but I was having too much fun working on my little coring clinic at the TF. My perception of the thermals was that they were numerous, but not real big, and with some significant wind variations. I worked one after another, trying hard to stay cored, trying to figure out where the thermal was coming from and what would keep me in it.

I landed at Parma with frozen hands an a serious need to pee.

From Parma, to the rellono place with Kristi, and then to the Grade with Art. Launched at 4:45 into significant wind. Within 3 minutes I was 1500 over launch and still maxed without turning, just a very gripped look on my face and full contraction, if you know what I mean.

After getting knocked around at 2400 I decided to burn a little off and then spent the next hour around 1500, just barely able to penetrate. I would slowly crawl up wind, gaining altitude the whole time, then as I would get out away from the hill and begin to lose it, I would turn down wind, be back at the hill in a second or two, and begin to crawl upwind again. Probably didn't make more than 5 or 6 trips up wind in over an hour of flying.

With the help of the speed bar I flew out over the fields and came up just a little short of being able to hook my final into the turnout.

It was a little much. The beer I am currently drinking is tasting really good!
