I love Santa Barbara!

My first free day for a while and the weather was perfect. My plan was to fly until early afternoon, and then head up West Camino Celo with my dog for some exercise. It’s nice when things workout.

After a brief struggle getting up in the house, I headed to the factory with about 3500. I was flushed all the way to below the round house at one point, but manage to grab a ratty thermal that got me back over the antenna farm. I just couldn’t connect with anything, but I was able to bounce around while waiting for something. I was finally rewarded with 800 up to 3200 which I took and transitioned back to the TF. I don’t know what was wrong the first time through, but now everything was going up!!

I was having a blast just boating around in perfect conditions for a while until my hands froze. They would not move! I have to get some new gloves!!!

I though the conditions were perfect. Plenty of lift, but just enough rattiness to keep you on your toes.

I really did not feel like going XC, so I headed out with altitude and played with big ears and spirals above parama.

I quickly bagged my glider, got my dog and mountain bike and climbed up West Camino Celo.

I love Santa Barbara!
