Sharon and I were at the training hill and about noon I noticed two baggers well above the TF. I borrowed a radio and found out it was our out-of-town guests, Simon, in the air and Nancy as his driver at launch. She was reporting good cycles coming in. I grabbed Sharon and headed to my house to get the rest of my mountain equip. On the way Bill B. called and I told him to come along. Unfortuantely, we got up there later than I would have liked, 2:00pm and the cycles were winding down. There was a new girl in town who is going to start instructing with Chad, I can't remember her name. She said she competes so it is nice we are getting some experienced lady pilots. She launched first and then Bill was right after. Bill tried to get some altitude above launch but the cycles coming in were steadily becoming less dynamic. Eventually he headed out right after Sharon launched. He reported NOTHING out front. I was really considering packing up to save the round trip retrival of my truck. But what the heck with it I launched. Cycles were such you could soar above launch but I did not want to be a pig using the air space as Dragisa was spreading his wing out and I knew cycles were getting weaker by the moment. So off to the AF to see if there was anything I could find. As reported there was nothing. Not even a bump. I rounded the corner below the RH and headed to the east spine below the AF. Normally you can ridge soar your way up but again nothing. Headed to the rock hoping to find something but again not even a bump. I was hoping to get to Parma and I came in with 50'+/- to spare only to land in a wierd sink hole right in front of all the hangies. The flag was indicating the wind was coming from the south very weak, but it felt like a north tail wind because I had the brakes down as far as I could go, and I was coming in hot. If I was trying to slide into second base no one could have touched me. Needless to say Gilbert's remark was "Way to mow the wild oats". Bill and Sharon did well as they made it to Parma. Another late afernoon sledder.
