I launched on the Ambar and found nothing at launch. I seemed to be choosing the wrong cycles ... I made it over to the TF, where the lift was nice and fat -- -and pissed off! The abruptness of the thermals was kind of nerve-whacking. Once you were established, it was smooth climbing. But, if you were fishing around and ran into one .... hang on. Cloud base was easy to reach at about 4200. At one point I entered a very strong thermal and my wing pressure went very light. I looked up and notice my wing only slightly inflated, but my vario screaming 900 up!
We must be crazy!
