visiting pilot!

My name is matt I'm a bag pilot from western NY, its good to hear of some great flights on this forum. The flying has been pretty scarce around here lately. Anyway I'm going to be in Santa Barbara in mid april for a maneuvers clinic with eagle paragliding and i was thinking of coming out about a week early to checkout some of your coastal and mountain sites. Is april still the rainy season in santa barbara? I was wondering if anyone can tell me who to get in touch with to find out about club membership info, site info, protocal, site observers, and overall do's and don'ts. I've read some storys on here about some visiting pilots that have ruffled some feathers with the locals, and I'd like to start out on the right foot.
