G’day

I’m a visiting pilot from Australia who will be working in Ventura for the next 3 weeks and looking to fly over the next three weekends. I have been working in Texas and have taken the time to get my USHPA P3 rating flying in Austin. I’m looking for contacts to go flying starting this Saturday. Any assistance with where to fly and who to contact would be greatly appreciated

Thanks....Chris

Hi Chris,
Welcome to California. This is not our best time of year for flying locally, but we have lots of ridge sites that work almost every day, and the mountains have options for boating around or going XC. As always, depends on the weather.

At this point it's a bit early to predict the weekend, but I know of a group planning to meet at the "T" in SB this Saturday to fly Alternator. Another group will be burning up the phone lines on Saturday morning trying to decide the best plan for the day (that's what happens when you have choices of flying sites...)

While in Austin did you meet Riss Estes? He's pretty well know in both Austin and SB.

Give me a call on my cell Saturday am about 8:30 and I'll try to hook you up.

Robb....Thanks for the reply to my post. Really appreciate your offer of assistance. I had also sent a couple of e-mail off and got good responses from them so I now have several contact for flying. Thanks to everyone that replied. I now have the hard decision on who to link up with on Saturday morning. As I had heard good things about Eagle Paragliding from pilots in Austin I plan to link up with Rob Sporrer.

Yes, I did meet Riss while in Austin. I had the privilege to get a tow from him last month. Nice guy and was helpful with information.

Thanks again….Chris
